Rakennuskone Oy was founded in 1954 before it became established as Rotator Oy in 1961. The family-owned company has therefore been importing, selling and servicing Hitachi construction machinery in Finland for 37 years. It has 150 employees spread across eight locations in the country, the majority of whom are working in the after-sales team.
Rotator's rental activities operate under the banner of Rotarent Oy, and the company's subsidiary, Rotator Eesti OÜ, is the authorised Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) dealer in Estonia.
As well as servicing the needs of the construction, quarrying and mining sectors with Hitachi construction equipment, Rotator also supplies access platforms, cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, compact crushing and screening plants, compaction equipment and floor-cleaning robots to the Finnish market.
Rotator's CEO, Jari Valtanen
As Rotator has been in the business for such a long time, and representing the Hitachi brand since 1983, it wanted to show its history by displaying some of the oldest machines imported to the Finnish market. Therefore, the company decided to find one of the first Hitachi machines it sold as it approached its 30th anniversary as a Hitachi Construction Machinery dealer.
During its search for the first Hitachi excavator, it actually found the second machine that had been imported into Finland and then started a complete refurbishment project. The cab had some considerable damage, and as no parts were available, the technical team widened their search.
They then succeeded in finding the sixth imported machine and it had all of the necessary parts that they needed in good condition. All of the refurbishment work was completed by Rotator's technicians in 2012-13 and the final UH081 is a combination of two excavators -" and as close as it can be to 100% original condition.
Rotator wanted to show in practice that it has represented Hitachi construction machine in Finland since 1983, and how the excavators have developed over the past four decades. Had the dealer not done this at the right time, all prospective machines would have disappeared. Among its other historic machines, the Hitachi UH081 is working and has been on display at various exhibitions since the project was completed.

|Feature||The UH081 was an export model of UH07-3 launched in 1977. It was first product developed with modern design very similar to current design, and had achieved good productivity installing bigger engine and higher rated pressure. It also improved comfortability by increasing the size of cab and reduced operating force through using assist valves in the operating system.|
